Cookie Time...

After so many years,i tried baking cookies all by myself today. Thanks to Su for her great recipe. The first round i thought it was going to be screwed as i add only 50g of butter when it was suppose to be 100g.I had added all the other ingredients when i realised that.I don't know if it was too late to add the butter...but i did and it turned out well.

2nd round i add too much butter.Haiz...but good learning experience and it still taste good.Yay!

The Last one was ...Vienna,Austria

Well the last stop for summer was Vienna (Wien). We took cheap train to Vienna from Venice.Venice was such a lovely city.I was wondering what there would be in Vienna after visiting a city like Venice but i was soo wrong.Vienna didn't fail to impress me as all.It was a clean city and you can get Asian food in almost every location.
We went to shop at the shopping centre next to our hotel and there was a whole level with Asian food shops!!!We had Asian buffet for about 5.80Euro!It was a good spread that i thought maybe the cook or someone was from Singapore. They had Malay kuehs,Chinese food,Curry etc.But they were all from China. The food was really super shiok!

Quickfacts:
*Vienna is super clean
*According to the tour guide the water is too and u can drink from just any taps!

The Wiener Riesenrad (Viennese Giant Wheel) was much smaller than the Singapore Eye.It was also bit pricey & seemed super slow that i decided not to take it
*Its still worth the visit to the amusement park

Err.He was suppose to win for me something...
Statue of Archduke Charles of Austria on the Heldenplatz (The Heroes Square)
There is always something happening in Vienna and we went it was the Flim festival. It was great ambience at the Rathausplatz.Of course there were many international foodstalls set up next to it.Hehehe..
The Show started at about 9pm.It was symphony orchestra.(Of course it must be!Hello, its Vienna..birthplace of Mozart)I was happily enjoying it when i noticed from the corner of my eye something dangling & dancing. It was hubby's head!He was snoozing off.I watched for a while and decided to leave for hubby's sake.
Remember this?
I also got to taste the Best Ice Cream in the Europe (according to the guide).True enough...it was heavenly!!!
Vienna,is a very nice city,great sculptures,museums,music(of cos!),great coffee,shopping,pastries etc..!
There is so much more for Vienna..but i am going to save some stories to share in person.hehehe..

Just Tried it !

Stir Fried Orange Chicken

Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into 1-inch cubes

Marinade:
2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Sauce:
1/3 cup orange juice*
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon chile paste
1 clove garlic, minced
1 slice ginger, minced

Oil for stir-frying, as needed

Instructions:

· Place the cubed chicken in a bowl, and add the marinade ingredients. Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes.
· While the chicken is marinating, prepare the sauce ingredients and the garlic and ginger.
· Heat the wok and add oil.
· When oil is ready, add the garlic and ginger and stir-fry until aromatic.
· Add the chicken and stir-fry until it changes color.
· Pushup to the sides of the wok, making a well in the middle.
· Add the sauce.
· Combine the sauce and the chicken.
· Stir-fry for another minute and serve hot.

*If you find the orange flavor too overpowering, try substituting a combination of orange juice and water to make 1/3 cup.

Tea with Taboo & Tattoo Today

It was my first time trying out taboo.I have to agree with Cindy that it is harder than pictionary but she was superrr good (i think she must pratice at home alot). After winning a game of taboo (cos Cindy was my partner),we had tea and began to chit chat.
After that it was picture time and the theme of the day is 'Who is the Gangster of them all'
We were trying to look fierce and i simply love the 'fierce' expression from Sherin...

Why so quiet?

Well,if you are wondering why my blog has no updates its because of this(below pic)!I was totally engrossed reading this marvelous Crime fiction. This time it was a lesson well learnt to 'Never judge a book by its cover'
After a very long time i found an amazing novel & writer.I was happy until i discovered the Stieg Larsson wrote only 3 books before he died in 2004.I am definitly going to continue to read all the volumes.
This novel was originally published in Swedish as 'Män som hatar kvinnor'(Man who hate women)Then translated in English and published as 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). When i was flipping the last few pages of the book,i realised that this story was made into a Swedish movie.I managed to get one copy with Eng sub and watched it with hubby. The storyline was same but there was some changes to the event but it was still a good movie.

Now,i can't wait to get my hands on the next Millenium Series...
