Day3 Krakow:Previously capital of Poland

It was not easy sorting out the Karkow Tour so we decided to go with the Hotel's Tour which was a bit pricy.

The train ride from Warsaw to Krakow was about 3 hours.(Express train).I didn't sleep as i was sitting near the window and enjoyed the view alot. There was a guy walking around with trolley.Hubby went to get drinks from him.I got a tea with a yummy biscuit and it was all free!!There was also a cafeteria car where hubby bought yummy sandwiches from.

Karkow was the captial of Poland from 1038 to 1596.If you are visiting Poland it is a must see and it couldn't have been better without our lovely guide,Anita.

Florianska Gate
The market Square
The Cloth Hall - Sukiennice

This tower has a love story. When there was a revamp they found a human heart behind this clock and it was believed that the man who built this tower left the heart of his lover behind the clock. It is still left as the Polish people respected their love and feelings that they decided to just leave it there.Isn't that lovely?!

The Jewish Town. Many of the places here remained the same from world war II that when Steven Spielberg came to Krakow to shoot the film 'Schindler's List' he was glad the places remained unchanged to shoot his movie. The highlight of the tour - Krakow's World-class Attraction, the Salt Mine of Wieliczka. This mine has been in operation for about 900 years .It used to be one of the world's biggest and most profitable industrial establishments when common salt was commercially a medieval equivalent of today's oil.The mine has entered in UNESCO's World heritage List.

Some pictures from that amazing place. Can you guess what are the statues and Chandliers made of?

Ans:Its all made of Salt!!!!by the miners who worked there!!

It was a 8hour tour. What i have shared above is only a tiny bit from the tour.Krakow has amazing places that i yet to discover.

So if you are visiting Krakow,i would certainly recommend you to get Anita as your guide. She is very friendly, speaks English fluently and also knows every nook and corner in Krakow.Click here to visit her website for more info.

Thank you very much,Anita for making our trip a fruitful one!!!

It was a 3hour trip back to Warsaw and as we were not sure if the restaurants would be open we decided to dine in the train.
