The General Strike Day

The day of the General Strike in Spain. On this day...
1.There wasn't any public or touristic bus
2.The metro will only resume services around 6pm
3.There were limited taxis
4.Many flights flying to spain were cancelled
5.Limited buses to/from Airport
What a bad time to be in Spain!but we both took it positively that it will be another kind of experience.Being Singers,we don't really get to see/experience all these. (Thank GOD!)

There were fewer shops open at later time than usual. We left after having breakfast.Oh did i mention that there maybe 'crazy' people walking around due to the strike?I don't exactly know what it meant but according to our hostal recep we had to be more careful because of these people.
So here we are at the scene...

 The Newscaster
 Middle of the main street..hehe

The Demonstrators at the Main Square
It was very noisy and the demonstrant was firing something like the starting pistol. It was so loud & frightened the birds at the square.

We got a glimpse of the strike and began to continue our tour.I managed to call Casa Batllo (with the little Spanish i knew) & found out that they were open.So our next stop..Casa Batllo
Casa Batllo a.k.a Casa dels ossos (House of Bones)

The exterior looks like a dragon's skin and the interior does have alot of spine and bone like designs. It felt like time traveling when i entered the building;like being in some legendary time where there where mythical creatures.
Entering the Fantasy world of Original designs by Antoni Gaudi i Coret

 Fish bone Staircase

The most original Fireplace of all time

One can only appreciate the true beauty of light and swirls in person. Its was so magnificent. The swirls around the light suppose to be a whirpool.Gaudi was highly fascinated by nature.Hence, his designs were always inspired by them.

 Window Handle

The ceiling and wall had scale like patterns.

The tall shaft designed to reflect light. The blue tile gets darker towards the top to allow more regulated, homogeneous light.
The opaque glass that gives a underwater effect when you look through it.
 The water ripple effect ceiling

Even the fencing are different from usual

 The colourful chimneys
The dragon's back structure

2 in 1 : This is the door to the elevator. The brown bars serve as handles and at the same time supports the opaque glass.
